It would be great to have additional preview shaders for previewing terrains in Gaea.
- Maybe a Matcap/Litsphere type of shader where you can load a custom Lit sphere for shading the terrain would be nice.
A basic material with support for tiled texture blending and tri-planar mapping for cliffs or rocks would be a really cool feature. You can for example define which node can be used for texture alpha blending (slope, height, flow, deposit etc...) or purely based on the shader where you can define slope angles for blending the texture layers.
PBR support if possible would be great.
The ability to load custom HLSL or CGFX shader files into Gaea.
Maya and 3dsmax have node based shader editors(ShaderFX) that can export these shader formats for use in other packages.
This could help speeding up iterations and giving a good preview of what the terrain would look like before bringing it to an external renderer or game engine.
